Visa Information Service

If you need additional information, please call the U.S. Visa Information Service on 0900 US VISA (0900 878 472).  Another excellent resource for general visa information is travel.state.gov.

To Make An Appointment

Appointments for visa interviews can be made using the online appointment calendar.

Appointments and visa information can be obtained by making a toll call to the U.S. Visa Information Service on 0900 US VISA (0900 878 472)

This number is a toll number. Calls will cost NZ$3.62 including GST per minute after the first minute.  The first minute of each call is free.  The maximum charge for any call is NZ$26.25 including GST.

The 0900 number does not work outside New Zealand.
If you do not have a New Zealand landline, you can call 04 494 7454 from your mobile phone or foreign phone, and pay by credit card.  Using this number incurs a flat fee of NZ$25.50.

Operating Hours

The hours of operation for the service are 7:30am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, excluding N.Z. public holidays.

Are you having difficulty accessing 0900 US VISA?:

Does your phone have a 0900 Tollbar?  In all cases the caller must first contact their telecommunications provider to ensure they do not have a 0900 tollbar in place on their phone. Before anything else can be looked at the caller must be able to verify that they have no 0900 tollbar.  Some workplaces have 0900 tollbars installed.

Do you have a general complaint with respect to the information you have been supplied and/or overcharging?  If you have a complaint regarding the information you have been supplied or you can confirm you have been overcharged then you must direct your complaint in writing to:

Still unable to get through to the U.S. Visa Information Service?

Once you have verified that you have no tollbar and you are continuing to experience problems in contacting the U.S. Visa Information Service, please email your:

  • Phone Number you are attempting to call from
  • Time & Date you attempted to call
  • Description of your fault regarding the 0900 number
