Adult Passport Renewal
To renew your passport by mail using Form DS-82, there are 4 criteria:
You can submit your most recent passport AND
You were at least 16 years old when your most recent passport was issued AND
You were issued your most recent passport in the last 15 years AND
You use the same name as on your most recent passport or; since your passport was issued, you have had your name changed by marriage or court order and can submit proper documentation to reflect that name-change.

All passport renewals must include the following:
- Your most recent passport
- Two identical passport photographs
- The applicable fee. Cash or bank cheque only. Eftpos, credit cards, personal cheques or NZ Post money orders are not acceptable.
- A return addressed courier envelope.
Your previous passport will be returned to you with your new passport.
If your name has changed since your passport was issued:
- Enclose the original of the legal document specifying your name change (e.g. marriage certificate, divorce decree, adoption decree, or court order).
- No photocopies accepted.
