Jackie Ogden: Zoos in the 21st Century - 21 MarchDr Jackie Ogden, Conservation Director of Animal Programs at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, is internationally known for her conservation work and is currently spear-heading the American Zoo and Aquarium Association’s(AZA) Multi-Institutional Research Project (MIRPS) which investigates the impact of zoos and aquariums on visitors’ conservation-related knowledge, attitudes, and behavior, through comprehensive research at representative zoos and aquariums throughout the United States. Disney Animal Kingdom is well recognized in the international zoo community as being at the forefront of zoo education, interpretation and conservation. Dr Ogden brings a valuable international perspective on New Zealand’s (and the Australasian region’s) zoos, wildlife parks and aquariums.
