| | Election 2008 DVC with Amy Walter. | Elections 2008 DVC held at U.S. EmbassyOn Tuesday, March 18 the U.S. Embassy in Wellington hosted a Digital Video Conference with Ms. Amy Walter, the Editor-in-Chief of The Hotline, the National Journal's daily briefing on politics and elections. Ms. Walter spoke on the currently ongoing U.S. election cycle, commenting upon the postions and processes of the frontrunning campaigns for the Presidency; the strengths and challenges of each; and upon the nature of the election process itself. There was keen interest in her commentary, and she was called upon to discuss several issues raised by the audience, and by Dr. Jon Johansson of Victoria University, who acted as moderator. In addition to her work with the National Journal, Ms. Walter also serves as a political contributor to CNN and provided Election Night commentary for the network in the 2002, 2004, and 2006 elections. Ms. Walter has been a frequent guest on CBS' Face the Nation and The Early Show, C-Span's Washington Journal, and PBS' The Newshour with Jim Lehrer.
