Decades of Diplomacy

Three ambassadors
U.S. Ambassador Bill McCormick hosted a unique event on the evening of Friday, February 15 when he invited all those who have served as New Zealand's Ambassador to Washington to his residence, "Camperdown."

"As Roy Ferguson said the other night, 'we stand on the feats of others' and I think it is important to take the time to acknowledge and appreciate those contributions," said Ambassador McCormick.

"Like all relationships we've had our ups and downs, but without the efforts of these individuals- and others- the relationship would not be nearly as strong as it is today."

Ambassador McCormick noted that combined the five attending Kiwi Ambassadors represent approximately 150 years of public service. He added that if John Wood and Tim Francis had been able to join the group they would have neared the 200 year mark!
